Our Role
LineTraces works with Chinese creditors from the initial assessment of a potential claim through the continuing coordination of a cross-border recovery matter.
At the outset, LineTraces helps the creditor organize the underlying claim, facts, evidence, available asset information, and commercial objectives. It then considers the potential recovery, practical enforceability, likely costs, time horizon, and material risks to help the creditor evaluate whether the matter is commercially worth pursuing and which recovery pathways may be appropriate.
When a matter proceeds, LineTraces helps develop a coordinated cross-border recovery strategy and organizes the professional resources required across jurisdictions. It supports communication among the creditor, locally qualified counsel, investigators, insolvency professionals, litigation funders, and other specialists throughout the matter.
As the matter develops, LineTraces helps the creditor understand progress, available options, costs, and risks, and supports adjustments to the recovery strategy in light of new asset information, investigative findings, or procedural developments.
LineTraces does not replace locally qualified counsel. Jurisdiction-specific legal advice, court proceedings, and regulated legal services are handled by appropriately qualified professionals in the relevant jurisdictions.
LineTraces’ Role in a Recovery Matter
Understand the claim, available evidence, asset information, and the creditor’s commercial objectives, and organize the available material into a coherent case framework.
Consider the potential recovery, asset position, enforceability, likely costs, time horizon, and material risks to help the creditor evaluate whether and how the matter should proceed.
Identify relevant jurisdictions and potential recovery pathways, and coordinate the use of investigation, litigation, enforcement, insolvency, and funding tools where appropriate.
Support communication among the creditor, locally qualified counsel, investigators, insolvency professionals, litigation funders, and other specialists, while following progress and helping adjust the strategy as the matter develops.
Professional Leadership
LineTraces is led by Yvette Li, a PRC-qualified lawyer focused on the coordination of China-related cross-border enforcement and asset recovery matters.
Her role is to assess claims, organize Chinese-language facts and evidence, develop cross-border recovery strategies, and support continuing communication and coordination among creditors, locally qualified counsel, investigators, litigation funders, insolvency professionals, and other specialists in the relevant jurisdictions.
Her professional background spans legal practice, cross-border commercial work, business development, and investment-related matters in China, together with legal and business education and substantial experience in the United States.
